I often wonder what it would be like to go back in time and tell my old self to calm the heck down. All the things I worried about, knowing how they’ve resolved and turned out now, I wonder if it would help or not. I’ve been a little MIA on the blog this past year, I know. While there are multiple reasons for that, I am over the moon to tell you about a project I’ve been working on for the past several months. It’s one of those things that makes me want to go back in time and tell myself to dream bigger and believe for. And honestly, I can’t believe that it gets to be my life. I’ve given bits and pieces of it here and there, but have waited to share the details until now. So, TA DA!! Consider this my official squeal of excitement and giddy jump around, announcing the birth of this crazy dream.

I’m honestly not sure where to begin this story, like does it begin when when I was 9 and crafting my heart out? Or when I went to Zambia the first time in college? Or maybe when Danielle and I realized our hearts were wired the same way for missions 5 years ago? I dunno. But what I do know is this: it’s crazy how Jesus can bring so many dreams into reality at a time. He does it all the time, and I am so humbled and honored that this is a little peak into His heart for me and how He made me. I feel like my life goes through seasons: seasons of total lack and insecurity, to seasons of abundance and momentum. I’ve honestly felt more of the former since I became a mom. But sometimes, Jesus pours out abundance like never before. And I’m here for it.

What you should first know is that we are starting a nonprofit with our dearest friends. God has put this amazing team together- all of us with different gifts and skills, but the same heart: to help Meet The Everyday Needs To Survive around the globe, or Meeting TENTS. This is also based off of the tent of meeting in the book of Exodus, and I’ll let you read more about our story here.

This is most of our team, but not all of us. Gathering for pictures is hard.

I am the Development Director for Meeting TENTS, TA DA AGAIN. Our team has been working hard to follow where God is asking us to go, and fill the gap between the missions and science realms, bringing sustainability, research, worship, and the heart of God around the globe. I can’t even, people. I CAN’T EVEN.

(This video really sums it all up! Give it a watch!)

One of the ways we do this is through Global Handmade, where we partner locally to reach globally. And this is where I get giddy AF, because this dream includes YOU, dear friend. Global Handmade exists to train women with the livelihood skills they need to write a new story for themselves and their families, breaking the cycle of poverty over their lives. Here in the US, we have Maker Days that are my new favorite things ever. We come together to learn new skills, make beautiful jewelry to sell in our shoppe, eat yummy treats, and are a community of women who want to use their gifts to grow the Kingdom. AKA I teach you how to make pretty things and we laugh a lot while stuffing our faces. I’M OBSESSED. Craft days galore? Check. Hearts to empower women around the globe? Check. 100% of the purchase going directly to our global initiatives? CHECK. Is this real life? Seriously- someone pinch me.

I have lots of favorite things about Global Handmade. But one of my favorite things is that it is a great money multiplier. The reason 100% of each purchase goes directly towards our initiatives is because everything is Volunteer Sponsored and Volunteer Run. Our Maker Squad donates $ for the supplies and create our products on our Maker Days. And because of their generosity and time, our Shoppe gets a 370% ROI (Return On Investment). THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY PERCENT, PEOPLE. Now that’s just nice.

These friends right here are my right hand gals. When this whole idea plopped into my mind, I knew that I could do it if they were with me. Kristen and Marisela- you are the wind beneath my wings!! And to all my friends who joined me for our first Maker Day: wow. You are my dream Tribe and total treasures.

So, my friend, will you join me on this dreamy adventure? Will you come to our next Maker Day, or consider buying some beautiful jewelry to support our global initiatives? Your purchases are powerful! You never know who you will reach with a message of hope when you gift them a powerful piece of bling! Maybe you want to donate to helping our shoppe grow, or maybe your heart is for the nations, and empowering women around the globe with creativity is your jam. IT’S MINE TOO. So let’s do it together.
